Anyone can publish apps. No pre-publication security reviews, malware scans, code audits, or legal checks.

Do not assume any app is safe. The company has no obligation to remove reported malware or malicious apps.

2. Trust Signals Are Not Guarantees

OBSERVED

KYC badges and user review scores are displayed as informational only.

SECURITY IMPLICATION

A verification badge or high rating has zero legal safety value and provides no warranty or endorsement.

3. Install = Blanket Consent

OBSERVED

Apps can request broad permissions to files, networks, credentials, and system resources.

SECURITY IMPLICATION

Installing an app grants full consent. You assume 100% of the risk of data exposure or compromise.

4. Liability Limitations

OBSERVED

The company disclaims liability for file deletion, data corruption, resource exhaustion, or network compromise.

SECURITY IMPLICATION

Total liability is capped at fees paid (currently $0). No backup features are provided.

5. Indemnification

OBSERVED

You must indemnify and defend the company against claims arising from apps you install.

SECURITY IMPLICATION

If an app you run causes legal issues or third-party harm, you may have to pay the company's legal costs.

6. Local Resource Exposure

OBSERVED

Apps running on Pi Desktop can access local files, databases, credentials, and network traffic.

SECURITY IMPLICATION

Strong isolation (VM or dedicated machine) is strongly recommended.

7. Discretionary Termination

OBSERVED

Access can be suspended or terminated at any time, with or without cause.

SECURITY IMPLICATION

No appeal process. You must uninstall SoloHost immediately upon termination.

8. Cayman Islands Jurisdiction

OBSERVED

All disputes are governed exclusively by Cayman Islands law and courts.

SECURITY IMPLICATION

Suing or seeking legal recourse is extremely difficult and expensive for most users worldwide.

Recommended Operator Controls

• Strong Isolation: Use a dedicated machine or VM. Never mix with your main wallet/device.
• Protect Critical Assets: Keep seed phrases, wallet keys, and exchange credentials completely separate.
• Zero Trust: Manually review every permission. Assume all apps are untrusted.
• Ignore Trust Signals: KYC badges and review scores have no real safety meaning.

Analyst Notes

Pi Network has a large user base in developing countries, many of whom are non-technical and have already lost money to wallet drainers, phishing, and fake apps. This unvetted app store significantly increases risk for that demographic.
